Who he is

A dayro kid who made the tabla talk back

In a Saurashtra lok dayro, the singer tells the story, and the tabla decides how it feels. Devang Gohil, from Gondal in Rajkot district, built his name in exactly that seat: accompanying folk singers and bhajan-santvani nights, then stepping into the spotlight for his trademark Tabla vs Banjo exchanges.

Those solos, filmed at dayros in Gondal, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Tarnetar, Thangadh, Porbandar and Mumbai, travelled far beyond the venues through his YouTube channel and his Instagram, where he describes himself simply as an artist and a “tabla and dhol player”.

Today he leads with the dhol as well as the tabla, as the rhythm of AD Band, sharing stage and screen with Gujarati folk singer Aarti Sangani, whom he married in December 2025.

The band

AD Band: when the dhol walks in

AD Band is the live act where Devang trades the closeness of the dayro for the full-body thunder of the dhol. Its reels, shared on his Instagram and on singer Aarti Sangani's and often tagged #agniawaaz, are built for one thing: getting a garba circle moving.
